Hey thank you so much for this recipe. It's helped me so much. I can't eat anything as I'm allergic to eggs and can have nothing with eggs in at all.

Thank you for this recipe. I promised my kids Halloween sugar cookies then realized I was all out of eggs and my husband was gone with the truck. You kept my 3 and 4 year old from being very disappointed.

Thank you so much for this recipe, I needed a cookie recipe for a project but forgot to do the shopping and then I found this! I'm going to try adding some ginger to the recipe, too.

I can't wait to try this. My daughter has an egg and peanut allergy. If anyone has any other good cookie recipes without eggs or peanut, feel free to send them to me. She is 8 and would love to try out a new cookie. My email address is mking0923@aol.com. Thanks again.

Thanks for this recipe. I wanted something that was safe for nibbling while cutting cookies as it seems children (and mommies and daddies) have NO self control around cookie dough!!

 Southern Cook (Alabama) replies:
It's only safe to eat raw if you also heat sterilize the flour first.

Thank you so very much!!!! My son is 17 months old and he is allergic to 8 different food products. The main 2 are EGGS and PEANUTS. I tried the eggs replacer, didn't like how the cakes, cupcakes or cookies came out. So I found this recipe and we are baking right now. I will let you know how they came out.

I substituted: for butter, 1 cup shortening, 1 cup non-dairy margarine; for flour, 3 cups white spelt flour (Son has allergies!). Instead of rolling into balls, we made a log, refrigerated, and cut off circles. They came out crispy, not chewy. They spread out a lot. Nothing fancy, complex, or rich, but an easy and good substitute for traditional sugar cookie recipes if you have allergies.

These were pretty good. The dough is super tasty. I wasn't expecting the cookies to puff up so much, then I put them on the counter and they totally deflated, flat as a crepe. really soft and chewy when warm but got a lil hard when they cooled.

 Zammi says:
OMG! I loved the dough!! although the dough is kinda soft and it has a lot of butter which makes it kind of flat and greasy... theyre in the oven now, well update later on how they taste :D
CANT WAIT!!!!!

Great cookies, soft and moist. Could go for 3/4 lb of butter instead.
