HOT MILK SPONGE CAKE 
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. hot milk
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, baking powder, salt. Add butter to milk, keep hot. Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored; add sugar and beat 4 to 5 minutes longer. Add dry ingredients. Stir until blended. Stir in hot mixture and vanilla. Bake in 9-inch cake tin at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
