PECAN - PEANUT BRITTLE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. white Karo
2 c. pecans or peanuts
1 tsp. baking soda

Cook first 4 ingredients until syrup forms threads when mixture is dropped in the air from a spoon. Strings must be crispy. It is not cooked enough if the threads are sticky. Remove from heat; add soda. Mix well and pour on buttered cookie sheet. Let cool and break into desired sizes.
