BAKED PORK CHOPS WITH ONION SOUP
My husband remarked that these were the best chops I have ever made. Which is great news, because this was so simple yet very tasty.

5 thick pork chops (1-inch or more)
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
1 small jar mixed fruit (pears, peaches & pineapple)
3 to 4 tablespoons melted butter
salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat oven at 350°F. Mix onion soup with melted butter to make a paste. Cut the pork chops in half, but not all the way through. Put a layer of the onion soup paste inside the pork chops. Salt and pepper top and bottom of chops and place in lightly greased baking dish or pan.

Place in 350°F oven for 1 hour. Turn the pork chops over so flavor of onion soup will go through both sides and bake for approx another hour.

About 15 minutes before the chops are done pour a jar of pears, peaches and pineapple over the top, which not only glazes the chops but gives a nice sweet flavor along with the flavor of the onion soup.
