VERY EASY VELVET CRUMB CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 350 or 325 degrees for glass pan and 375 degrees for cupcakes. Blend all ingredients in large bowl on low speed of mixer for 1/2 minute, then 4 additional minutes on medium speed. Pour batter into greased and floured 8 inch pan or 9 inch round pan, or cupcake papers. Bake cake 30 to 35 minutes and cupcakes 10 to 15 minutes. Makes one layer or 16 cupcakes.

NOTE: This cake is also excellent for strawberry shortcake.
