POTATOES AU GRATIN 
1 split clove garlic
Softened butter
1/4 lb. shredded cheddar cheese
2 c. cooked, peeled and sliced potatoes
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Rub baking dish with garlic and butter. Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese in dish; cover with potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix eggs, milk, and nutmeg; pour over potatoes. Cover with remaining cheese. Dot with butter. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

Serves 4.
