FRANKLE'S SAUERKRAUT 
1 qt. sauerkraut
1 (16 oz.) can peeled tomatoes, drained and crushed
6 slices bacon
1 med. onion, diced
1/4 c. sugar

Fry the bacon until crisp and then crumble. Reserve 1 tablespoon bacon grease and use it to saute the onion. In saucepan, combine sauerkraut, tomatoes, bacon, onion and sugar; simmer 1 hour.
