5 HOUR BEEF STEW 
2-3 lbs. lean beef stew meat
1 lg. can tomatoes
1 box frozen peas or beans
6 whole carrots
3 med. potatoes (cubed)
3 med. onions (coarsely chopped)
1 c. chopped celery
3 tbsp. minute tapioca
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt (generous)
Grinding of pepper, pinch of thyme, marjoram and rosemary or 1 bay leaf
2 oz. red wine

Put all ingredients into deep casserole. Cover tightly and bake 5 hours at 225 degrees. Serves 8.
