By accident, I used cream cheese in place of the sour cream and added a bit of milk... turned out to be the best mistake! Family loved it!

Subsitute 8 ounces of cream cheese in place of the sour cream. I've been making it this way for years and won't make it any other way. A family favorite and a family tradition now!!!

My family loves this recipe. I alter mine just a little. I add 1 more can of creamed corn, only use 1/2 can of regular corn, and use 3/4 stick butter instead of 1/2 stick. It's a delicious alternative to regular corn bread and is really good crumbled in brown beans or as a side dish to compliment any meal.

I have been using this recipe for almost 4 years now. The second time I couldn't remember it exactly and threw in two eggs into the mix. It was the highlight of the dinner! I was even asked to make it this year for Thanksgiving dinner at my fiance's parents!

I have always connected our family's cornbread casserole with all our holiday dinners. My mom has handed over the reigns to my sister Toni. She now has the dinners at her home, but no matter what she must always bring the cornbread casserole. Everyone from her husbands family and ours loves it, especially my niece, Jessica D.
