HEARTY BEEF STEW - CROCK POT 
2 lb. stew beef, cut in 1" cubes
5 carrots, cut in 1" chunks
1 lg. onion, cut in chunks
3 stalks celery, sliced 1" chunks
2 lg. potatoes, cut in lg. chunks
1 lg. can tomatoes
1/2 c. quick cooking tapioca
1 whole cloves or 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 bay leaves
Salt & pepper to taste

Put all ingredients in crock pot. Mix thoroughly. Cover and turn on high about 4 hours or 8 hours low.

Absolutely perfect. I didn't have any beef broth so was looking for something else I could use as a beef stew recipe and now this will be the ONLY one I use. I substituted one sweet potato for one white potato. The use of tapioca for thickening is wonderful.
