ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
3 sq. semi sweet chocolate
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix butter, sugar, water and salt in saucepan. Stir while cooking to hard crack stage (300 degrees), takes about 1/2 hour to get there!

Cook and stir constantly so mixture doesn't burn. Pour into ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan. Chill until hard. Melt chocolate and spread on top and sprinkle with nuts. Let stand 2 hours. Break into pieces.
