I've made this dessert many times now and instead of doing it with jello I do it with fresh strawberries and Glaze. It is sooooo goood!

This is a very yummy treat!!! I am going to try it with the marshmellows but do you have to melt them first?

To add a "grown up" twist to the cake I substitute one cup of water in the jello with one cup of wine. And to make it over the top, I add 2 table spoons of cocoa powder (or chocolate chips) to the jello. Chocolate, wine and strawberry taste so good together.

 Christine Lindblom (Ohio) says:
I've been using this recipe for a few years now and love it. For something different I tried using one (20 oz.) can of strawberry pie filling in place of the frozen strawberries. Turned out great.

 Lynda (United States) says:
I use 2 cups pineapple juice in place of the water. This gives the jello a little more kick. (I reserve pineapple juice when a recipe calls for drained pineapple and freeze in freezer bag.) It doesn't take long for this to add up to 2 cups.

 Katrina (California) says:
My aunt used to make this for Thanksgiving and I always loved it as a child so I decided to make it for my branches pot luck. Only thing I changed was doubling the pretzel layer. Two cups for the 9x13 was just too thin.

 Connie (Oklahoma) says:
I have been making this dessert for many years. I have always mixed one small can crushed pineapple along with the frozen strawberries in the jello topping. The topping sets better and tastes so much better too! I also assemble the first 2 layers and let set overnight then add the 3rd jello layer the following morning. It takes a little longer and requires more planning, but the end product is definitely worth it!

Even better when you use Dream Whip instead of Cool Whip!!!

Try it with mango slices and mango jello... to DIE for!
