VERSATILE BREAD DOUGH | |
2 c. hot water 2 tbsp. shortening 3 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sugar Mix together. While warm add 2 tablespoons yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes or until dissolved. Beat 2 eggs and add to above mixture. Add enough flour until dough is stiff, about 6 cups. Knead. Let rise until double (about 45 minutes). Knead. Let rise again. Make into bread, rolls, coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, etc. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes. |
