SHOOFLY PIE 
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
1/3 c. dark molasses
2/3 c. light corn syrup
1 egg
3/4 c. hot water
3/4 tsp. baking soda

CRUMB:

1/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar

Beat egg and molasses, corn syrup, water and baking soda. Pour into bottom of crust. Work together the crumb ingredients until crumbly. Evenly spread crumb mixture over liquid. Bake 15 minutes at 400, then 20 minutes at 350. Delicious served warm and topped with whipped cream.
