GERMAN BREAD BALLS (DUMPLINGS) 
3-4 slices white bread
Milk
Med. chopped onion
Butter
1-2 eggs
Bread crumbs
Boiling water

Place bread in a bowl; add a little milk and cover for a while. Saute chopped onion in butter. Add this to squeezed out bread. Add 1 or 2 eggs and some bread crumbs. Mix. Make small balls. Roll in more bread crumbs and press them into the balls a little. Place in boiling water; when balls rise to the top (after a few minutes), they are done.
