JEAN'S OVERNIGHT SALAD 
1 head lettuce, shredded
7 stalks chopped celery
1 bunch green onions
1 pkg. frozen English peas
1 can water chestnuts (thinly sliced
1 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
Grated Romano cheese

Layer as given. Be sure to drain and rinse water chestnuts. Spread mayonnaise on top (it will soak in). Sprinkle with sugar and then grated cheese. Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Garnish with hard- boiled eggs and bacon bits.
