BREAD PUDDING | |
8 slices white bread, crusts removed 1 1/2 c. milk 1/4 lb. butter 1/2 c. sugar 4 egg yolks 2 tbsp. orange rind 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. seedless raisins 4 egg whites 1/4 c. sugar Remove crusts. Put in bowl and add milk. In another bowl cream butter until light and fluffy, add sugar and beat until smooth. Add yolks, 1 at a time beating well, add orange rind, spices and raisins and the bread mix. Blend with wooden spoon. Beat egg whites until soft and fluffy. Add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff. Fold into the bread mix. Butter 10"x12" pan and sprinkle 1 cup sugar. Put pan into another pan half full of warm water. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 or 50 minutes. |
