SUGAR-AND-SPICE COOKIES 
1 (18 oz.) roll refrigerated sugar slice-and-bake cookies
1 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

Early in day: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease cookie sheets well. Cut cookie roll into 1 inch thick slices; cut each slice into quarters. With hands, shape each into small ball.

In small bowl, with fork, beat egg white with 1 tablespoon water. In another small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Brush each ball with egg white mixture, then roll in sugar mixture.

Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes or until golden. Remove cookies to wire racks; cool. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
