BROWN RICE PORK CHOPS 
5 to 6 pork chops (lean)
3 tbsp. shortening
1 beef bouillon cube
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1 c. conventional rice, uncooked
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. pepper

Brown chops in shortening, remove. Season with some salt. Add rice to pan drippings, brown lightly, stirring constantly. Add bouillon cube dissolved in the water, add pepper, green pepper, onion and remaining salt to rice. Place in casserole dish. Place chops on top of rice mixture, cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
