1 lg. loaf of fresh bread (Italian, sourdough or other firm crusty bread)
Fresh grated parmesan cheese
Melted basil butter (recipe follows)
Slice bread as follows: Long loaves slice on diagonal into 1 1/2 to 2 inch slices, leaving just a little bit at the bottom that has not quite been cut all the way through. Round loaves slice across diagonal into 3 to 4 inch slices, then turn and slice across the other way into 3 to 4 inch sliced to form cubes. Again, leave just a little but at the bottom that has not been cut through. Pour or brush all slices of bread with melted garlic basil butter until nicely covered with the wonderful mixture. Place on foil. Sprinkle with lots of parmesan and wrap in the foil. Either warm in the oven or on the grill until nice and warm. Yum!
