CINNAMON-RAISIN BREAD PUDDING | |
1/4 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 qt. whole milk or half-and-half 5 whole eggs 6 slices cinnamon and raisins swirl bread (I use Birkholms Brand) Butter sides and bottom of baking dish. Tear bread in small pieces. Put in baking dish. Mix sugar, vanilla and milk together and bring to boiling point. In a bowl beat eggs and gradually add milk mixture while stirring. Strain mixture and take out all egg lumps. Pour mixture over bread. Let set 5 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream and/or fruit. |
