GRANDMA'S OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 heaping c. raisins
1 c. raisin juice
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. rolled oats
2 c. flour or enough to make dough stiff to drop from spoon

Cook raisins in water for about 2 minutes. Set aside to cool. Cream sugar, shortening, and eggs. Add raisins and 1 cup juice. Add the rest of the ingredients. Drop from spoon onto cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
