CLAM OR FISH CHOWDER 
4 to 5 potatoes, cut into small pieces
1 lg. onion, finely chopped
2 to 3 stalks of celery, chopped fine
1 can mushroom soup
1 can evaporated milk
15 oz. finely chopped clams, fresh or canned (also use cooking juice)

Simmer potatoes, onions and celery in a heavy sauce pan until tender (covered with water). Add clams, soup and evaporated milk. Season with salt, pepper, garlic to your taste. Heat thoroughly but do not over heat, it will burn easily. You can add crab, shrimp, or halibut for a "mixed" chowder. To serve, spoon into bowls or large cups and garnish with parsley leaves and shredded cheese.....tastes great and looks wonderful.
