Prepare and set aside pastry for one crust pie.
Mix together: 4 tsp. flour 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. salt
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons mixture over bottom of crust. Set remainder aside.
Mix together: 3 tbsp. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter or cube butter
1/3 c. whipping cream
Place apples in pie crust, alternating apples and remaining sugar mixture. Set aside. Prepare second mixture, cutting butter into dry ingredients until well blended. Sprinkle all of this mixture over apple mixture. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 30 to 40 minutes longer, or until apples are tender. Remove from oven. Pour 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream over pie while hot. Let stand 15 minutes. Serve while warm.
