APPLE CREAM PIE WITH CRUMB
TOPPING
 
2 c. finely chopped tart apples
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. dairy sour cream
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. salt
Pastry for 1 crust pie

Combine sugar and flour; add cream, egg, vanilla and salt. Beat until smooth. Add apples; mix thoroughly. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake in a 450 degree oven for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 30 more minutes. Remove from oven.

Combine 1/3 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/3 cup flour and cut in 1/4 cup butter. Mix thoroughly; sprinkle over top of pie and return to oven. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 more minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream if you like.
