SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 head cabbage
Garlic powder
2 c. milk
1/4 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
8 tbsp. butter
4 tbsp. flour
Bread crumbs
Salt and pepper to taste

Chop cabbage, place in covered bowl or casserole with 2 tablespoons butter and dash of garlic powder. Microwave 8-10 minutes on high. Mix 4 tablespoons butter, flour, and milk and heat in microwave; add cheese and heat until melted. Put cabbage in 9 x 13 inch casserole. Pour white sauce over cabbage. Top with buttered bread crumbs. Bake until bubbly and bread crumbs brown.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
