SCALLOPED CABBAGE | |
1 lb. cabbage (coarsely chopped) 1/4 c. salt 5 tbsp. butter 1 c. milk 2 qt. boiling water 1/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. flour 1 c. buttered cracker crumbs Cook cabbage in boiling water seasoned with salt and sugar for 4 minutes. (BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERCOOK.) Drain well and place in buttered 2 quart flat casserole dish. Make white sauce with butter, flour and milk and pour over cooked cabbage. Sprinkle buttered cracker crumbs on top. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. |
