BLACK WALNUT CAKE 
2 c. sifted cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. finely chopped black walnuts

Grease and flour a 9x9 square pan. Sift together dry ingredients. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, mixing at low speed. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk. Blend until smooth. Add vanilla and nuts. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Cool 15 minutes and remove from pan. Top with whipped cream icing.
