AWARD WINNING LUMP CRABMEAT
CHOWDER
 
1 lb. lump crabmeat
3/4 c. chopped green onions
1/2 c. chopped bell pepper
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
1 stick butter
3 med. potatoes
3 c. homogenized milk
1 pt. half and half
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. liquid crab boil
Salt and white pepper to taste

Peel and boil potatoes in saucepan in enough water to cover them to which the liquid crab oil has been added. When tender, remove, let cool and puree potatoes and water in blender. Saute green onions, bell peppers and parsley in butter just until wilted. Add potato puree to sauteed seasonings. Stir in milk and half and half, lump crabmeat and remaining seasonings. Cook over low heat until warm enough to serve, being careful not to boil or the milk will curdle. Enjoy! Serves approximately 8 persons.
