CARAMEL BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. softened butter
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
32 caramels (Kraft)
1/2 tsp. baking powder
5 tbsp. milk

Mix flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, brown sugar and butter. Put 1/2 to 2/3 of mixture in 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 8 minutes at 350 degrees while melting caramels and milk in double boiler.

Pour caramels over crust then add chips and nuts on top. Put the remaining crumb mixture over all and bake for 15 minutes more.
