STIR - FRIED BEEF AND BROCCOLI 
1 lb. steak, cut crosswise very thin
1/2 c. water, divided
1/3 c. soy sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. sherry
1 clove garlic
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. oil
1 bunch broccoli, cut
1 lg. onion, diced

Marinate steak in mixture of 1/4 cup water, soy sauce, sugar, sherry, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch at least 10 minutes. Drain well; reserve marinade.

Heat oil in skillet; add steak. Brown, then set aside. Add broccoli and onion; fry 1 minute. Add remaining 1/4 cup water; cover and steam 3 minutes or more. Return meat to skillet with marinade; stir-fry.
