1 pkg. (2 layer) devils food cake mix
1 can cherry pie filling
3 c. thawed whipped topping

Make two 9 inch cake layers. Spoon 1/2 cup whipped topping in 3 inch circle in center of 1 cake layer on plate. Spoon 1 inch of whipped topping around edge. Spoon half of the cherries between circle and border. Place second layer on top. Spoon 1 1/2 cups whipped topping around top edge. Spoon remaining pie filling in center. Chill. Refrigerate left over cake.
