SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 
1 lb. lean ground beef or veal
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 tsp. white pepper
1 c. ginger ale
1 egg (or substitute) beaten
1 tsp. garlic
1 1/2 c. ketchup
1/2 c. grape jelly

In a bowl combine the meat, egg, bread crumbs, garlic and pepper. Add 1/2 cup ketchup. Blend well. In a saucepan, pour remaining ketchup, ginger ale, and jelly. Stir over low heat until mixture just boils. With wet hands, form 1-inch meatballs and drop into cooking sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Serves 6.
