MEATBALLS WITH SWEET & SOUR
SAUCE
 
MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground beef
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/3 c. fine bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. parsley flakes

Mix together, form into 1" balls and fry at medium temperature.

SWEET & SOUR SAUCE:

1 garlic clove or powder
1/4 c. mushrooms
1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch with 1/2 c. water (make paste)
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
2 tbsp. oil

Heat oil, add vegetables and fry until barely soft. In a small bowl combine sugar, garlic, vinegar, water and soy sauce. Stir into skillet and cook 1 minute. Put in cornstarch paste and rest of water, cook 1 minute or until thick. Put meatballs back into skillet. Simmer and serve hot.
