CARAWAY CHICKEN | |
6 chicken breasts, boned 1/4 tsp. onion powder 1/4 c. shortening 1 (10 oz.) can chicken broth 1/2 c. flour 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 c. sour cream Combine the flour, onion powder, and pepper in a plastic bag and toss the chicken in it. Add shortening to a frying pan and raise to moderate heat. Add chicken to the frying pan. Sprinkle caraway seeds over the chicken. Pour chicken broth over the chicken and cook gently for 20 minutes or just until all pink is gone; don't uncover! When finished, remove chicken to platter. Add sour cream to juices in the frying pan; stir. Pour over the chicken and serve. This recipe is one of my families favorites - it is delicious, easy to prepare, and invariably popular with my guests. |
