GERMAN SAUERKRAUT CARAWAY | |
1 (No. 2 1/2) can sauerkraut 1/2 c. port wine 2 tsp. caraway seed 1/2 tsp. powdered horseradish 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. instant minced onion 1 tbsp. sugar Combine all ingredients in a saucepan; cover. Simmer 2 hours. A favorite with sausage, frankfurters, spareribs and roast pork. In a few sections of the country this is a traditional dish served with the Thanksgiving turkey. Serves 4. |
