OUTDOOR ONIONS 
3 lg. red onions, sliced

Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper and sugar. Then saute in 1/3 cup butter 5 to 8 minutes and stir to separate onion into rings. Add 1/2 cup sherry wine and cover and cook 30 minutes on very low heat, stirring occasionally. Top with Parmesan cheese and use sliced sour dough bread to soak up wine sauce. Very good with bar-b-que.
