BUTTERNUT POUND CAKE | |
3 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. butter, softened 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 2 tsp. vanilla, butter and nut flavoring 6 eggs, separated 3 c. cake flour Powdered sugar Cream sugar, butter, and cream cheese until light and fluffy; beat in flavoring. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add cake flour, mixing well. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter thoroughly. Spoon batter into a greased 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Cool thoroughly and sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar. Yield: one 10-inch cake. |
