FRENCH FRIED ONION RINGS | |
Slice white Bermuda onions 1/2" slices. Separate all into rings. Soak in ice water for 30 minutes; drain. Beat 1 egg with 3 tablespoons of milk and salt in bowl. Into a paper sack place 2 cups flour and in another bag 2 cups bread crumbs. Drain water from onions, toss in flour sack, coating all onions. Dip each ring in egg mixture turning to completely cover with egg then toss in bread crumbs and coat well. Lay on wax paper to dry for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Fry in deep fat until golden brown. BATTER FOR CAULIFLOWER: 1 c. flour 1 egg, well beaten 1 tbsp. melted shortening 1/2 c. milk 1/2 tsp. salt |
