AUNT JO'S FRENCH FRIED ONION
RINGS
 
2 lg. Vidalia onions

BATTER:

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 slightly beaten egg

Slice onions 1/4 inch thick and separate into rings. Soak in ice water for 2 hours. Drain and dry onions thoroughly. Mix batter. Dip onions in batter and fry in hot oil. Drain on paper towel.
