APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup honey
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup cold, unsweetened applesauce
1 cup seedless raisins

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Cream shortening. Add honey gradually, creaming after each addition. Mix and sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with the applesauce to the creamed mixture. Fold in raisins. Pour batter into a well-greased 8 x 8-inch pan.

Bake for about 45 minutes.
