1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 lg. head cabbage

Combine the sugar, vinegar, celery seed, mustard seed, turmeric, salt and allspice and bring to a boil. Pour over large grated cabbage. Add a little onion and green pepper if desired. Store in refrigerator.
