GRANDMA'S DOUGHNUTS 
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 c. buttermilk
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
7 c. flour
4 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla

Dissolve soda in a little warm water; mix with buttermilk. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add the other ingredients and mix. Roll out dough about 1/3 inch thick. Cut with doughnut cutter. Fry in hot fat or oil. Makes 6 dozen.
