BUTTERMILK DOUGHNUTS 
3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp. salt
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. buttermilk

Mix the first 5 ingredients. Set aside. Beat eggs and sugar. Stir in melted butter. Alternate flour mixture and milk. Beat just until each ingredient is blended. Chill 2 hours.

Roll in part. May chill until ready to roll. Roll 1/2 inch thick with 2 1/2 inch cutter. Fry 1 minute on each side in hot grease at 375 degrees. Drain a few minutes. Dip in powdered sugar, a little milk, and vanilla.
