OLD-FASHIONED "JEWISH-STYLE" APPLE CAKE | |
1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 1/8 c. orange juice 2 eggs 5 apples (rome, pipin, etc.) Apples should be peeled, cored, cut into bite sized pieces, sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar. Let sit. Mix all other ingredients together and put 1/2 the amount in the bottom of a greased medium size tin. Next layer - apples....arrange. Top layer - place the other 1/2 of the dough mixture (blobs...spread out.) Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon on top. Bake 350 degrees 1 hour until golden brown. |
