OLD -TIME APPLE STACK CAKE 
15 c. flour
10 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. molasses
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
7 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
5 tsp. vanilla
1/2 sm. bottle oil of cinnamon
1/2 gallon sweetened applesauce

Mix and set aside the flour, baking powder, and salt. Heat molasses, shortening and sugar until all are dissolved. Combine beaten eggs with milk, vanilla, and oil of cinnamon. Add to molasses mixture.

Make a hole in the flour mixture. Pour the liquid in slowly. Mix with hands until the mixture is a stiff dough. Chill for 30 minutes.

Roll out a small ball of dough on a floured board until it is no more than 1/2-inch thick. Cut out a circle of dough in a shape of a pie pan. Place circles on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees until brown. Let cool. Place in stacks using applesauce between each layer. Let stand for 36 hours before cutting.
