GERMAN CHOCOLATE BARS 
14 oz. pkg. caramels
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. butter, melted
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
2/3 c. evaporated milk (divided)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, butter, and nuts. Place 2/3 of cake mixture in a greased 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Pat mixture flat to cover bottom of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on crust; pour hot caramel over chips. Top with remaining cake mixture, crumbled. Return to oven for 15-18 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into small bite size bars.
