SMOKED SAUSAGE STEW | |
1 lb. smoked sausage (sliced not too thick) 1 onion (chopped) 1 tbsp. vegetable oil 3 c. water 2 chicken bouillon cubes 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp. thyme 3 ribs celery 1/2 head cabbage (cut in 1 inch chunks) 2 tbsp. uncooked rice 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1 can (15 oz.) red kidney beans 1 can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes In large saucepan brown onion in oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Makes 6 to 8 main dish servings. |
