CRANBERRY BREAD 
1 c. white flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Grated ring of 1 orange
3/4 c. orange juice
1 lg. egg
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. firm, fresh cranberries
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda and spices. Lightly beat together the orange rind, orange juice, egg, and butter. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Coarsely chop the cranberries and add them to the batter along with the chopped nuts. Mix everything together thoroughly and pour the batter into a buttered medium sized loaf pan.

Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean and dry. Cool on a rack and wrap tightly to store.
