CRANBERRY ORANGE NUT BREAD | |
2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sugar 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 c. raw cranberries, halved 1 egg, beaten 2 tbsp. shortening, melted Hot water Juice and grated rind of 1 orange Sift together dry ingredients. To juice and rind of orange add shortening and boiling water to make 3/4 cup liquid. Add egg to dry ingredients. Add liquid, nuts, and cranberries. Stir well. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees (check after 50 minutes). |
